Job Posting Title: SE_UX Designer_Specialist

Description: We are looking for a Senior UX Designer specialized in digital accessibility to support both immediate accessibility audit needs and the development of a scalable accessibility capabilityThe role will focus on evaluating selected applications against WCAG 2.2 AA, identifying accessibility risks across key journeys, prioritising issues by user impact and severity, and translating findings into clear remediation guidance for product and engineering teams.

The ideal candidate goes beyond automated checks. They should be able to conduct keyboard-only and screen-reader walkthroughs, identify issues that automated tools miss, review flows, screens and components for accessibility risks, and provide specific, actionable feedback to other designers. The candidate should help teams design accessibly from the start rather than retrofit accessibility at the end of delivery.

This is also a capability-building assignment. Over time, the person will contribute to accessibility methodology, standards, reviews, awareness activities, training guidance, integration with design-system practices and stronger accessibility ownership across product teams. The assignment combines senior UX craft, practical audit experience and an enablement mindset.

The candidate profile:

• Proven experience as a Senior UX Designer with a strong specialization in digital accessibility and inclusive design.

• Hands-on experience assessing web or digital product journeys against WCAG 2.2 AA and translating findings into practical design and development guidance.

• Ability to conduct manual accessibility evaluations, including keyboard-only navigation checks and screen-reader walkthroughs with tools such as NVDA, VoiceOver or JAWS.

• Ability to use automated accessibility tools as support, while applying human judgement to issues such as reading order, focus behaviour, labels, announcements, cognitive load, design consistency and interaction quality.

Experience reviewing designers’ work and providing clear, specific and actionable feedback that helps teams ship more accessible solutions.

Experience prioritising accessibility issues by severity, user impact and delivery constraints, and converting findings into backlog-ready remediation actions.

Experience of conducting usability tests with users with disabilities, e.g. people with visual, cognitive or reading impairments.

Good understanding of design systems and how accessible components, patterns and standards reduce repeated remediation work across products.

Ability to collaborate across UX, product, engineering, compliance/legal and portfolio stakeholders in a cross-functional operating model.

Relevant accessibility certification or current training is expected or strongly preferred: IAAP WAS / CPWA preferred; CPACC, DHS Trusted Tester, W3C WAI training or equivalent demonstrable experience considered a strong plus.

Motivation to contribute not only to audits, but also to standards, methodology, training and awareness activities and capability-building.
