We're looking for a Test & Validation Engineer for a consulting assignment with one of our clients, a company that develops advanced control systems for marine and industrial applications. The client is an established player in its segment, with a long track record, a substantial patent portfolio and millions of products delivered, operating as part of a global automotive and machinery group. The assignment involves contributing to Android-based infotainment and HMI platforms used in construction equipment, where your work directly impacts both machine operators and customers worldwide.

About the assignment

As a Test & Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, stability and reliability of Android-based infotainment and HMI platforms. You will design and execute test strategies, validate system behavior across hardware and software layers, and play an important role in major Android OS upgrades.

Working closely with developers and system engineers, you will automate test cases, build test environments, identify quality risks early, and help ensure a robust and seamless user experience. This is a hands-on role where you'll work with complete systems, from embedded software to physical hardware, contributing throughout the entire development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute test plans for Android-based infotainment and HMI systems

Validate functionality, performance and system stability across hardware and software layers

Develop, maintain and improve automated test cases using Python

Review requirements and identify gaps, ambiguities and quality risks early in the development process

Support Android OS upgrade validation, including regression testing and compatibility checks

Develop test benches and simulators to emulate external nodes and machine interfaces

Collaborate with developers and system engineers to analyze issues and improve product quality

Maintain clear and structured test documentation and reports

Key qualifications

At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing automated tests (proficiency in Python)

Experience testing automotive infotainment systems or embedded platforms

Familiarity with Android/AOSP testing frameworks, tools and debugging methods

Ability to understand complete system behavior and evaluate functionality from an end-user perspective

Knowledge of CAN communication and related diagnostic tools

Fluency in English, both written and spoken

It's a plus if you also bring:

Experience validating Android OS upgrades or platform migrations

Knowledge of automotive communication protocols and hardware interfaces

Who you are

You see complex systems as full of possibilities and enjoy working hands-on to understand how each part connects. You are curious, analytical and enjoy solving problems where software and hardware meet. You take ownership of your work, challenge assumptions when needed and strive to improve both quality and efficiency.

You understand that successful testing is about more than verifying requirements — it's about understanding the complete system and ensuring that the end-user experience is reliable, intuitive and robust.
